Young Scots chasing win in Victory Shield

Scotland's youth coach Ross Mathie will send his under-16 side out at the Falkirk Stadium tonight against shock-troops Wales looking for the win that will give the young Scots at least a share of the Sky Sports Victory Shield for the first time in seven years.

The Welsh, who tied with England in the tournament in 2005, are also out to ensure they get the three points after their 4-0 demolition of the English in their first game.

Mathie said: "This tournament is decided on points only and therefore a win for either side tonight means that they will at least get a share. Wales were four-nil up (against England] by half-time and they will be extremely buoyant after that, so we are well warned about how difficult this game will be. We won down there 1-0 last season with a flash of brilliance from Islam Feruz, but it was another very tight game."

Mathie added: "If we win that gives us a share and that will do for just now as England and Northern Ireland could also still get six points, so it is too early to talk about anything else."

Young Celtic striker James Kirwan, who scored in the opening win over Northern Ireland, is a doubt with a hamstring injury

The SFA has set admission prices of 5 for adults and 2 for children for a game which kicks off tonight at 7.30pm.
