Young Hibs head for Prestonpans

Hibs' under-19 side, who have had a series of testing pre- season fixtures against Liverpool, Sunderland, Newcastle United and Walsall as well as East Seniors team Craigroyston, visit Prestonpans tomorrow to face Preston Athletic at 2.00pm.

Hibs Youth Coach, Alistair Stevenson, has a full squad which will include goalkeeper Thomas Flynn who is likely to feature for at least half of the game. Hibs defeated Craigroyston 2-1 two weeks ago with goals from Phil Addison and John Wright.

"Our boys have acquitted themselves well in all of our games and we did particularly well against the English clubs with two wins, a draw and a defeat," said Stevenson. "It has been a successful close season with the development of our young players of paramount importance.

"Our first league game is two weeks away so tomorrow's game is an important part of the build-up."

The Hibs youngsters will include Mark Lancaster, Harry Monaghan, Lewis Horner, Ross Campbell and Scott Smith.
