Workforce in for Arc

Workforce is third-favourite at a best-priced 6-1 after being given the go-ahead to run in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on Sunday.

The Investec Derby winner booked his place in the line-up after an encouraging piece of routine work yesterday at Newmarket.

"He went on Long Hill this morning, ridden by Ryan Moore. The main thing was to see his action and his general demeanour, and both were good," said Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager for owner Khalid Abdullah.

"He just had a nice smooth piece of work about four and a half furlongs for a blow-out."

Workforce is 6-1 with Coral, who have Behkabad at the head of their market at 100-30 after 22 horses were left in at the latest forfeit stage.
