Winters hurt by 'diver' claim

ROBBIE WINTERS reacted angrily today to accusations from East Stirling manager Jim McInally that he is a cheat , writes NIGEL SOUTHWORTH.

Livingston were leading 1-0 at Ochilview when Winters fell under a challenge from Michael Bolochoweckyj, earning him his second yellow card of the match and an early bath just 12 minutes into the second half.

Winters rubbed salt into the wounds when he headed home Livi's second seven minutes later.

McInally said: "The sending-off killed us. I thought the player dived and the referee was conned. But the bottom line is we were beaten by a better team."

Winters said: "I don't know what all the trouble was about. I knocked the ball past him and felt something hit me. I'm not sure if I jumped or whatever but I'm not going to stand there and let him halve me in two.

"It's just silly that people were shouting 'diver' and stuff."

Andrew Halliday had given Livi the lead after 13 minutes from close range after Raffaele de Vita had glanced on Jason Talbot's cross. The victory means Livi are seven points clear at the top of the Third Division having played two more games than Shire.
