Win over Prestwick keeps West Lothian in front

BOWLS: After round two of the Jack High Insurance National League, West Lothian continue to lead the standings in Section A of the Premier Division, while Aberdeen are the new leaders in Section B. In Section A, West Lothian beat Prestwick 71-63 and that result gives them a 43-shot advantage over of East Lothian, who edged a 71-69 win over Alloa, while Blantyre drop to third place after losing 82-76 at Paisley 82-76.

With home advantage, Aberdeen crushed Falkirk in their table-topping clash 93-62 to go into pole position in Section B. Midlothian and Lanarkshire remain pointless at the bottom of the group. Auchinleck are unbeaten in second place. The Dalkeith side went down 70-62 to their Ayrshire counterparts, while Turriff’s 92-72 win over Lanarkshire takes them to third place. In Division One, Perth are the only unbeaten team after a narrow 75-73 away win over Buchan, while Tweedbank and Coatbridge lead Sections B and C. Elgin, Portobello and Ayr top the three sections in Division 2.
