Whitehill to take on Arbroath

EAST Seniors league outfit Whitehill Welfare appointed former Dundee United, Stirling Albion and Berwick Rangers player Paul Cavanagh as their manager at the end of last season and his first game in charge is tonight when SFL Third Division side Arbroath are the visitors to Ferguson Park, kick-off 7.30pm.

Cavanagh took over from Gary Aitchison who has become Whitehill's Director of Football and he has already been busy in the transfer market signing Scott Gormley from Whitburn Juniors, William Kidd (Easthouses Lily), Jordan Hall (Lothian Thistle) and Jordan Caddow along with Steven Clee (both Edinburgh City).

"I am more than happy the way things have been shaping up during pre-season," said Cavanagh. "Tonight is the start of our competitive games and Arbroath sure to provide us with a great test"

Paul Sheerin is in charge of Arbroath and he has signed former Hibs defender Jay Shields. Former Falkirk player Kieran McAnespie and Danny Griffin from Livingston are also included.
