Whitburn girls turn out to be the Hearts breakers

Whitburn won the South East Region under- 13 Girls League Shield (Consolation Cup) after beat Hearts 3-0 at Dunbar's New Countess Park.

Jade Wilson opened the scoring, tapping in after the Hearts goalkeeper spilled a shot. It was a deserved goal. Hearts hinted at a firing back a reply, and had a good chance to equalise in the closing stages of the first half but Kelsey Boyle dragged the ball wide after an impressive cross from the right wing.

Whitburn started the second half in the same attacking fashion as they finished the first, with Charles coming close to grabbing a goal but shooting wide after a spill from the goalkeeper. The livewire striker finally netted 15 minutes into the second half after volleying home a lofted corner.
