Whillans has a Super day at Hamilton

I'M SUPER Too was the star of the show at Hamilton Park yesterday as the Lanarkshire course hosted its Scottish Trophy Day.

The 7,000 Scottish Trophy Handicap was the feature race and Garry Whillans steered the 9-1 shot to victory, with Muffin Mcleay (7-1) in second, Persian Peril (12-1) in third and 5-1 joint favourite Staff Sergeant having to settle for fourth place.

Jockey Tom Eaves celebrated a double when Foxtrot Romeo held off Personal Touch in the opening British Stallion Studs EBD Debutants Maiden Stakes and then 2-1 shot Edgware Road won the 3,500 Parks of Hamilton Maiden Stakes ahead of Beachwood Bay.

Julie Burke and Deliberation won the Tents And Events Handicap, Northern Bolt held off 1-2 favourite Fol Hollow to land the Dennis Donnelly Memorial Union Glasgow Housing Claiming Stakes, while Jeu De Vivre and Piper's Song also entered the winner's enclosure.
