West of Scotland 26 - 22 Selkirk: Selkirk get their kicks but West win it

In an exciting match West got their first win of the season and a bonus point while Selkirk got off the mark with a bonus point.

In the first half the visitors' centre David Cassidy banged over five penalties out of five to give his side a 15-11 lead.

Yet it began very promising with West registering a touch down in just the sixth minute, good handling by Kyle Matheson, Elliott McLaren and Richard Dalgleish sending left winger Calum McKenzie over.

The second half was very different. In just its second minute interpassing between Conor Davis and McKenzie saw the former touch down. Eight minutes later fullback Davis broke and sent McKenzie in for his second try.

And in 62 minutes Davis collected his second try.

However with no conversions kicked West led only 26-15 which was cut to 26-22 when sub Rob Taylor got over, with Cassidy converting.
