West Lothian stun Grange

WEST Lothian last night created one of the biggest shocks in Scottish Cup history when they sent favourites Grange crashing out in the first round.

The Second Division side dominated from the start and were good value for their comprehensive 77-run win.

South African professional Kruger van Wyk hammered 147 of his side's 242-8 after being dropped in single figures. Overseas amateur Jared Cookson then compounded Grange's misery by claiming five cheap wickets for the Linlithgow outfit.

Aberdeenshire came through a tricky tie against Forfarshire, restricting the visitors to 228-7 before the holders won by four wickets with nearly six overs to spare.

Ayr gave Premier Division Clydesdale a fright at Cambusdoon, piling on 259 before Majid Haq held his nerve to ease the Titwood men through with three wickets and just two balls to spare. Dougie Lockhart scored 98 as McCrea FS West totalled 298-9 against Stenhousemuir, who made just 147.

Dunfermline spinner Aparajit Singh returned to haunt his old Falkland mates at Scroggie Park, taking 3-24 to restrict Falkland to 200. Dunfermline cruised home with more than nine overs to spare.

Carlton's 308-7 gave them a 185-run win over SMRH, while Uddingston and Corstorphine proved too strong for Weirs and Penicuik respectively, and Greenock saw off Ferguslie.
