West Lothian and Falkirk feel the heat at the top

BOWLS: With a place in the Jack High Insurance Premiership League beckoning, West Lothian and Falkirk will be under pressure today to stay in pole position for a berth in the final on 12 February.

Only four rounds of matches remain and West Lothian lead Section A, two points ahead of Blantyre and East Lothian. West Lothian entertain fifth-placed Prestwick who have four points, Blantyre welcome fourth-placed Paisley who have six points, while East Lothian meet pointless Alloa.

In Section B, Falkirk have a three-point lead ahead of Midlothian, Turriff and Auchinleck, who all have six points with only 31 shots separating them. Falkirk are at home to Aberdeen, Midlothian travel to Auchinleck and Turriff go to Lanarkshire.

In Division 1 and 2, leaders in each of the three sections have away matches. Abbeyview, Bainfield and Coatbridge meet Fraserburgh, Cumbernauld and Ardrossan in Division 1, while Elgin, Whiteinch and Ayr travel to Arbroath, Headwell and Cowal.
