Well to draw from Euro run

Motherwell manager Craig Brown is keen to provide more excitement for the club's fans by following their European adventures with a Co-operative Insurance Cup run.

They face Irn-Bru Second Division promotion hopefuls Brechin City at Glebe Park tonight with a place in the quarter-finals up for grabs.

Motherwell fans have had three trips to Iceland, Norway and Denmark this season.

"We would like to do well in this competition to give the fans something to cheer about," Brown said. "We had a good cup run in the Europa League before a major disappointment.

"The boys are hungry to have a good cup run. The European run has whetted our appetite. No-one can dismiss the cups. I looked at Dundee United last season and saw the great enthusiasm and respect they gained from winning the Scottish Cup."
