Weather hits rugby fixtures

THE poor weather has taken its toll of club fixtures this weekend. Last night's Glasgow Hawks v Edinburgh Accies Scottish Hydro Premier 1 match was postponed, as was Jed-Forest v Kelso in Premier 2. Still in Premier 2, today's Stirling County v GHA and Dunfermline v Gala fixtures are off.

The saga of the unplayed Kirkcaldy v Boroughmuir preliminary tie in the Scottish Hydro Premier Cup continues, after today's seventh attempt to play the game was called off last night. Beveridge Park is unplayable, as is Meggetland.

Although another date may be sought, there is the possibility that the SRU championship committee will intervene. A statement on the Kirkcaldy RFC website said: "It is likely that the SRU will rule that the outcome will be determined by a draw of cards."
