Watt's bacon saved by Main

Heriot-Watt University dropped two valuable points in this season's Inter-Scottish Universities Football Championship when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Glasgow University at Riccarton.

Heriot-Watt took the lead in the fifth minute when Gavin Main crossed for Chris Donnelly to score with an acrobatic bicycle kick from ten yards.

Glasgow equalised early in the second half when Jamie Kerr netted with a low left-foot shot. Ten minutes later the same player crossed for Calum Tevendale to power a header past Heriot-Watt's goalkeeper Craig Saunders.

Glasgow looked to be heading for a victory until four minutes from time when Main was on hand to steer the ball home for the equaliser. The result means that Heriot-Watt and Edinburgh head the league table, and they will clash next Wednesday at Peffermill.
