Tom Lewis

Age: 20 Club: Welwyn Garden City

His 65 in the opening round at Royal St George’s saw him become the first amateur to lead The Open in more than 40 years. Won Silver Medal to add to a St Andrews Links Trophy success.

Rhys Pugh

Age: 17 Club: Vale of Glamorgan

The youngest member of the home team, he won the McEvoy Trophy and Fairhaven Trophy last year, when he also captained GB&I Boys against the Continent of Europe.

Jack Senior

Age: 23 Club: Heysham

This year’s Lytham Trophy winner - he also claimed the New South Wales Amateur title earlier in the season - reached the semi-finals in the recent US Amateur.

Michael Stewart

Age: 21 Club: Troon Welbeck

Last year’s Scottish Amateur champion, he added the South African Amateur title earlier this season then reached the final of the Amateur Championship at Hillside.

Andy Sullivan

Age: 24 Club: Nuneaton

Won this year’s Scottish Stroke Play at Blairgowrie, he was England’s top performer with five points out of six in the Home Internationals in Ireland.
