Walker can make up for loss of Pesir

LIVINGSTON boss Mark Proctor today predicted the return of midfielder Allan Walker from his seven-month injury nightmare would help make up for the loss of key man Tomas Pesir.

Walker completed his first 90 minutes for the club in their emphatic 6-1 thrashing of Morton, scoring the fourth goal after being set up by Robert Snodgrass.

Pesir chipped in with two goals and could have had a hat-trick in his last game in a Livingston shirt after deciding to leave the club.

The Czech says he has offers elsewhere and it is believed he has won a more lucrative deal in Turkey. His exit swiftly follows on from midfielder Jason Kennedy who has decided to return to Middlesbrough, despite Proctor wanting both to stay.

However, the Englishman believes Walker and other products of the club's youth system – including defender Cameron Macdonald, who enjoyed a solid debut on Saturday – can be relied upon to step up and take their chances in the first team.

He said: "Allan has had a couple of months on loan at Raith and has got his match sharpness back.

"He is back from a long-term injury and it will be intriguing to see how he goes on in the next few weeks.

"He has got a bit of a pedigree, he has played in the SPL and hopefully he can enhance us.

"Cameron did well on his debut, he showed he was very solid, but it turned out to be a good game to make a debut.

"Tomas became frustrated at our inconsistency and I believe he has got a better deal abroad – that's football."

Proctor also revealed there have been inquiries for Graham Dorrans. "He is on a contract until next year," he said. "I expected interest in him, but it will take a good offer for us to let him go."
