Wales No 8 Delve on way to Australia

WALES No 8 Gareth Delve will join Danny Cipriani at the Melbourne Rebels Super 15 franchise from next season. The 27-year-old Gloucester captain will leave Kingsholm after opting for a move to Australia over a switch to the Cardiff Blues.

Delve featured for Wales against Ireland and Italy towards the end of a disappointing RBS Six Nations campaign for Warren Gatland's side, having previously not been capped since the summer tour of South Africa in 2008.

Delve, who was part of the 2008 Grand Slam-winning squad, has performed impressively in a Gloucester side that struggled during the opening half of the season. However, the decision to move to Australia is likely to put the former Bath forward's Test career on hold as Gatland has made it clear that he wants his international players to ply their trade in their homeland.
