Volleyball: Troon fire warning shot

TROON PA coach Vince Krawczyk has warned his team will be no pushovers in tomorrow's vital relegation match against Edinburgh Jets in the men's Schelde Sports Scottish Volleyball League.

The Ayrshire side have yet to win a league match this season but could go above second-bottom Jets with a victory.

Krawczyk argues that taking a surprise set off league leaders City of Edinburgh in South Queensferry last weekend has given his team fresh hope.

"I know Edinburgh were without two key players in Barry McGuigan and Simon Hammond but I thought we played pretty well against a team who have not lost," he said. We knew it was going to be hard coming up from the second division but last weekend gave us confidence that we deserve to be in division one."

City of Edinburgh welcome back McGuigan and Hammond.

In the women's first division, Troon PA host Edinburgh Jets and City of Edinburgh entertain Glasgow Mets.
