Volleyball: City out to end Troon run

CITY OF EDINBURGH aim to end Troon PA's unbeaten record in the women's volleyball first division tomorrow.

The Ayrshire side hold a four-point lead over the Capital side and the two teams have been a cut above the rest in Scotland this season but Troon coach Vince Krawczyk argues that it is all to play for going into the play-offs.

"Edinburgh Jets and Su Ragazzi have both been improving and when it gets to the play-offs anything can happen," he said. City of Edinburgh beat Troon in the Top Teams Cup final in December but the Ayrshire side had the upper hand in the league the previous month. Since then, Edinburgh have won six straight matches in the league without dropping a single set.

In the men's first division, City of Edinburgh protect their unbeaten record against City of Glasgow Ragazzi but the key match is at the other end of the table where Edinburgh Jets, can go a long way to avoiding the drop if they can beat Team Fife at home.
