Volleyball: City dampen Blaze's title challenge

City of Edinburgh made it clear they have every intention of hanging onto their men's Schelde Sports Scottish League volleyball title as they handed Kilmarnock Blaze their first league defeat of the season.

Having won 24 out of 25 matches last season, Edinburgh have already lost once in the league this term but there were no slip-ups on Saturday as they came through 26-24, 25-18, 15-25, 25-17.

With as many as six teams capable of winning the title this season, it could prove an important victory with Edinburgh still readjusting after losing key players Gavin Watt and Colin Macnab to French clubs over the summer.
