Video: Steve Peat rides new Scots mountain route

Mountain biker Steve Peat, who has enjoyed success both in Britain and abroad, including placing first in the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships in Australia, has taken on the new route as part of the First Up, First Down series, designed to showcase car and action sports athletes at the peak of their careers accessing previously uncharted terrain.

Peat - who recently released his own mobile game ‘Downhill Mountain Biking’ - won the Fort William downhill world cup round in 2005, as well as winning the World Cup in 2002, 2004 and 2006. As well as winning the Lisboa Downhill eight times, he has also finished second in the Mountain Bike World Championships four times - in 2000, 2001, 2002 and again in 2008.

A champion of youth involvement in the sport, Peat is heavily involved with young cyclist academies and has also contributed to the design and manufacturing of riding clothing.

This video shows Peat tackling a new route in the Scottish Highlands, with breathtaking views and terrain in abundance.
