Video: Commonwealth Games marathon preview

The Glasgow Commonwealth Games marathon gets underway today in what is one of the most eagerly anticipated events.

The weather may not be what the athletes hoped for with heavy rainfall throughout the morning however the cooler conditions may suit some competitors.

In today’s Commonwealth Games show we recount Scotland’s medal total which, at 11 medals, is close to breaking the previous record which was achieved at the 1986 Games in Edinburgh.

We also speak to marathon runner Ross Houston and the mental and physical challenges he will face when running today’s event and what he thinks about the Glasgow course.
