Veteran Graham Alexander returns to Preston

GRAHAM Alexander has returned to Preston North End on a one-year deal following his departure from Burnley.

The 39-year-old former Scotland international made 400 appearances during his first spell at Preston between 1999 and 2007, scoring 63 times. And he is delighted to have returned to the club as Phil Brown's men bid to bounce back from last season's relegation to League One. Alexander said: "I am really excited as it was something I was hoping for. I have finalised leaving Burnley today so I could finally make the move. It is brilliant. I didn't sleep much last night because I was looking forward to training with the boys today and I am looking forward to everything."
