Versatile Renwick shows his turn of speed in 100m

CITY of Glasgow's Robbie Renwick has already qualified for the European Championships and Commonwealth Games in the longer freestyle events and he showed a nice turn of speed to win the 100m at the British Gas Scottish Championships at the Tollcross Leisure Centre.

It was also a good evening in Glasgow for double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington, who claimed her second title of the week in the 800m freestyle in 8:35.76. Scot Megan Gilchrist was second in 8:41.76 to make the Games team.

Renwick claimed his first national title of the week with a time of 50.67, just holding off England's Craig Gibbons (51.03) with Stirling teenager Jak Scott in bronze position in 51.08. "I'm still in full training so the times haven't been the best this week," said Renwick.
