Up for new cup

A NEW trophy will be up for grabs when Liberton and Llandaff North continue one of the longest Scottish-Welsh club rivalries at Double Hedges Park tomorrow.

After the original silverware dating back to 1970 went missing, Liberton stalwart Willum Burgess has put up a "Friendship Cup". Liberton official Andy Mackie said: "The rivalry started when some club members visited Wales in the late sixties and met up with Llandaff players who 12 months later travelled up to watch the Murrayfield international at our clubhouse. A full fixture was then arranged and has run ever since."
