United gift victory to Well

DUNDEE UNITED manager Peter Houston has told his players he expects a vast improvement for their second trip to Fir Park in four days after they helped Motherwell to a 2-1 Clydesdale Bank Premier League victory.

Own goals from Scott Severin and Sean Dillon keep Motherwell in third place. Houston, whose team face Well in the Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter-finals tomorrow, said: "Normally after a poor performance they have always come back and answered the question that is asked of them. All I can hope for is that they answer that question on Tuesday."
