Uni have too much for Craigroyston

The students almost stole a lead in the second round of the Image Printers Cup when Daniel Main's mis-hit free kick hit the top of the Craigroyston bar.

The home side also nearly opened the scoring when Mark Tait could only parry a Keith Pullen header but his defenders forced Jordan McKenzie to fire the rebound wide before the same player saw Tait save well from his close range effort.

The Uni's best chance of the first half saw Calum Murray volley over when well placed, but they did take the lead early in the second half when the ball fell nicely for Michael Gray who scored easily.

The home side struggled to create any clear chances although Jon Manson and David Anderson combined to set up Kyle Hay but he shot past from the edge of the box, and it was the students who sealed victory when sub Mark Gair set up Main from a free kick.
