Under Loch and key .?.

LOCHEND YFC wrapped up the Lothian Buses South East Region Youth FA's under-17 Division 3 league championship by a two-point margin over rivals Civil Service Strollers.

The manner of their clinching win, though, was infinitely more emphatic than the final points difference between the title winners and the runners-up, with Lochend securing their silverware with a 6-0 victory at Haddington.

Gordon Young's side quashed the disappointment of a League Cup final defeat against Strollers with a hard-fought league win over a 16-game season.

"We lost to Civil Service at Saughton Enclosure and the boys were really disappointed with themselves," says the Lochend coach.

"But we managed to beat them 2-0 on their patch a week later to keep our league hopes alive.

"Our team only started up this time last year and we've been in each other's pockets since then."
