Umotong on target to see off Ormiston

Craigroyston opened the scoring in the first minute when Ross Cameron found Ubong Umotong midway in the Ormiston half, and he was allowed to run unchallenged before beating Paul Cadger in the visitors goal with a well placed shot,

Umotong added a second goal soon after when Michael Stewart and Marc Robertson combined to set him up, and he again finished well from the edge of the penalty area.

Ormiston almost pulled a goal back but debutant home goalkeeper Stuart Addison did well to touch John Collins' effort on to his crossbar with the rebound being put over by Kevin Barr.

The home side then added their third goal just after the half hour when Keith Pullen found Ryan McKenzie wide on the left and after his cross was handled by Simon Heyes, Umotong stepped up to confidently complete his hat trick with a well taken penalty.

The visitors should have got back into the match early in the second half but Colin Clancy shot over when unmarked and well placed.

And despite having the better of the early stages of the half they were unable to create any clear cut chances.

Robertson forced Cadger to push his low shot behind for a corner on a Craigroyston break before the same player flicked over the bar after Ross Cameron headed a Kyle Hay corner into his path.

Then Ormiston were unlucky not to pull a goal back when Brian McEwan's shot beat the home keeper but again the woodwork came to Craigroyston's rescue.

Umotong had strong claims for another penalty turned down when he beat Cadger to the ball and appeared to be brought down as he attempted to go round the keeper but the referee only awarded a goal kick.
