U18 match-play success for Atkins

Hawick's Lesley Atkins is the new Scottish Under-18 girls' match-play golf champion.

The golf scholarship student at Loretto School, Musselburgh beat Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) by 5 and 4 at Eyemouth in the weekend final and may now look to pursue her golfing career in the United States when she is old enough. Next year's Scottish girls' championship will be played at Glenisla Golf Club, Alyth from 12 to 16 July.
