Tynecastle unable to hold on for the win

Preston went in front from the penalty spot in the 55th minute. Mark Pagliarulo was taken off the ball in the Tynecastle box with a crowd of maroon shirts around him, and converted the resulting spot-kick himself.

Tynecastle equalised through Wayne Sproule in the 77th minute, and five minutes before full-time took the lead after McIntosh's delivery was bundled over the line by Gareth Thom. Three minutes into injury time, Miller earned Preston what could be a valuable point.
