Tynecastle have too much for students

Tynecastle took the lead when Heriot-Watt couldn't clear their lines and after a goalmouth scramble John Williams fired the ball into the net.

The Watt defence then failed to clear further danger and Darren Aird had the simple task of prodding the ball into the net. Aaron James pulled one back for the students when he broke away and smashed the ball high into the net.

A whipped in free-kick was then spilled by John Gilbertson and Ronald Napier was on hand to put the ball into the empty net to level for the students.

Wayne McIntosh then went on a terrific run and his first shot was saved well by Craig Saunders but the ball rebounded off McIntosh and into the net to give Tynecastle the advantage. Heriot-Watt then had several chances and the best fell to Ally Duff - his delicate chip beat Gilbertson but went over. In injury time Tynecastle's Darren Thomson completed the scoring.
