The Emirates Australian Open, which will be staged from November 17-20 at Royal Sydney Golf Club, will be the first chance for players to secure a place in the 146th Open from July 20-23.

The leading three players who finish in the top 10 and ties and who are not already exempt will book their place at Royal Birkdale, where Sweden’s Henrik Stenson will defend the Claret Jug won in record-breaking fashion at Royal Troon this year.

Three places will each be up for grabs at the Open de France, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
