Travel-weary Tranent hit the road once again for tough derby

TRANENT return to Forrester Park tomorrow for the first time since January and will be aiming to celebrate the end of their away day blues with a derby win over Haddington.

"We've had eight away games on the bounce, which is a joke," said manager Brian Johnston. "That should never happen."

Haddington head into this weekend's game just four points behind their neighbours and have three games in hand.

"It will be a tough game for us as they have definitely improved - their results show that," added Johnston.

"They've signed two new strikers and that has added a bit of pace and movement up front that complements the experience they've got in other areas of the team."

Tranent have nine games remaining - six at home as well as trips to Dalkeith, Dunbar and Haddington.

"We can't afford to drop any more points at all if we want to give ourselves a chance in the title race," said the manager.

"I still think there are a lot of twists and turns to come in this league and if we can win all of our games it would give us 57 points - two more than last season."
