Touch of wind sees students share spoils

The spoils were shared at Peffermill as neither team could break the deadlock in testing conditions.

With this being the first East of Scotland match either team had played in eight weeks, there was bound to be a certain degree of ring rust to shake off, and both sets of players had to contend with a swirling wind.

Stirling's Pentland came closest to getting on the scoresheet in the first half with a 20-yard effort in the 42nd minute which Tait managed to save.

Despite playing into the wind in the second half, the visitors managed to carve out a couple of opportunities. Neilson narrowly missed the target with a speculative shot from the edge of the box in the 61st minute, while McKee nearly squeezed in a lashed shot from ten yards out but the ball trickled wide.
