TOP prize for cricket Scotland

CRICKET Scotland has taken the top prize in the Pepsi ICC Development Programme Awards 2010, with what was judged to be the 'Best Overall Cricket Development Programme'.

The award by the International Cricket Council marked improvements in Scotland's infrastructure in 2010, especially in in junior cricket and the women's game.

Steve Paige, Head of Community Development for Cricket Scotland, said: "To be acclaimed as the best cricket development programme in the world is a fantastic feather in Scotland's cap.

"This is not simply about the work of our excellent team of professional development officers. There is also an army of volunteer coaches who play their important part in developing cricket.

"In 2010, we saw some fantastic achievements in our community programmes."
