Time for Bonnyrigg to start rise up league, says Miller

ALAN MILLER says his Bonnyrigg players can't afford to feel sorry for themselves after suffering a double disappointment last weekend.

At the same time as Miller's men were being knocked out of the Fife & Lothians Cup by Armadale, last season's champions found themselves slipping to the foot of the Super League as a result of Glenrothes picking up only their second win of the season. Tomorrow, Bonnyrigg return to league action for the first time since early December when they entertain Kelty and Miller is expecting a tough test.

"We have found ourselves at the bottom of the league through no fault of our own really as our last league game was against Newtongrange on 5 December," he said.

"There's no point complaining, though, as we are in an awkward position and it's up to ourselves to get out of it."

Musselburgh, who are due to face Camelon away after that fixture was a victim of the frost last Saturday, have Chris Gray suspended while Wes Mitchell is not quite ready to make his return after a lengthy lay-off due to injury. "The boys were a bit downhearted after losing to Newtongrange but we've picked them up and we're eager to get going again," said manager David McGlynn. Meanwhile, after going out of the Scottish Cup last weekend, Newtongrange, who are just four points behind leaders Bo'ness, will be hoping to bounce back at home to Glenrothes.

"To be honest, we've not played well since the Christmas break, with players who've been terrific for us over the past couple of seasons having lost a bit of form, which happens," said Graeme Armstrong, who could be without striker Grant Meaney tomorrow due to a hip injury.
