Thompson wants Celtic to settle tie

Celtic coach Alan Thompson admits the prospect of fitting in another Scottish Cup tie against Inverness would be a "disaster".

The quarter-final was rescheduled for tomorrow night after a waterlogged pitch forced it to be called off on Sunday.

That sparked the postponement of Celtic's scheduled game against Hibs, meaning they now have two Clydesdale Bank Premier League games outstanding, with a match at Kilmarnock to fit in too.

Celtic only have two free midweeks before the SPL splits, other than international weeks, so the prospect of a replay or another postponement concerns Thompson.

"It would be a disaster really," said Thompson.

"Fingers crossed we play on Wednesday.

"If we have to go to a replay, we have to go it.

"We'd have to deal with that. But hopefully we can perform tomorrow night and go through in the tie without a replay."
