Third division preview

MONTROSE will be looking to maintain their recent resurgence this afternoon and they could move off the bottom of the table with victory at home to Berwick Rangers. Having failed to win a match until the end of January, Montrose have now won three in a row to pull level with second bottom Elgin City, whom they dispatched on Tuesday. That the recent upturn in form has included a win against promotion-chasing East Stirling and a 4-0 thrashing of Forfar makes it all the more remarkable.

Before this current run of form, Berwick were the only team Montrose had beaten and another victory today would go a long way to erasing some painful memories this season.

Berwick will also be desperate for the points, however, as they battle to make it into the promotion play-offs.

They currently sit just outside the top four on goal difference but have Albion Rovers, who have played two fewer games, breathing down their neck. Having begun the season so well, Berwick have struggled since the turn of the year and have only three wins to their name, which means that the play-offs are now their only hope of winning promotion.
