Tennis: Scots on a charge at Craiglockhart

Dunfermline's Sam Macneil led a Scottish charge of four home grown players into the quarter-finals of the AEGON Junior International tennis tournament at Craiglockhart.

The 18-year-old Fifer enjoyed a notable success in taking out eighth seeded Roy Brands of Poland 6-3, 5-6, 6-3 to set up a tie against Bath's Sid Hazarika, the fourth seed, later today.

The other Scottish boys' successes came from unseeded wild card Jonny O'Mara, 15, from Arbroath and Larg's Ross-Tiree Wilson in the under-14 singles.
