Tennis: Devine right to be feeling confident

In-form Edinburgh tennis star Emma Devine was today preparing to extend Scotland's challenge in the Aegon junior international tournament at Craiglockhart.

One of seven Scots progressing through the event, third-seeded Emma was due on court to face Hertfordshire's Sophie Watts in the girls 18 and under singles with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.

In her opening match, Emma comfortably disposed of fellow British player Georgina Todd 6-1, 6-0 to extend a run which saw her capture singles titles at both under-16 and under-18 level in last week's Scottish junior open, which was also at Craiglockhart.
