Tennis: City teenager McIntosh is called up for County clash

EDINBURGH 15-year-old Euan McIntosh has been rewarded for gaining his first international tennis ranking points with a place in the East men's squad for this week's inter-county championships (group two) at Cromer, in Norfolk.

Recognition comes on the back of reaching the doubles final, along with Jonny O'Mara, at the recent ITF event at Craiglockhart which earned him ranking points for the first time.

Over the first few months of this summer Euan's training has been concentrated on stepping up to the men's game but, additionally, he has also done well at European under-16 level making the semis of a tournament in Roehampton, the quarters in Turkey and a final in Iceland.
