Tennis: Blackhall dispose of Dalkeith in cup clash
With regular team member Euan McIntosh absent and
enjoying a glory run into the third round of an ITF junior tournament in Nottingham – he could soon reach No.2 in the UK under-18 rankings – Blackhall tennis men saw off Dalkeith to reach the second East qualifying for the Scottish Cup last night.
Hanselling their new artificial clay courts at Blackhall, spearheaded by another top junior, Reuben Henry, alongside coach Brian Barnet, lost only a handful of games against opponents finding their way on the competitive scene.
Fresh from winning the under-18 singles at the Waverley Open, David Holmes helped Dunfermline beat those rivals 8-4 while Murrayfield defeated former winners Abercorn.
