Ten-man Peterhead battle back from behind to beat Brechin

SECOND Division round-up.

BRECHIN threw away a 1-0 lead to lose against ten-man Peterhead, giving the visitors hope of a play-off place.

Mark Archdeacon's second goal in a week gave City a 24th minute lead, and Bobby Mann's sending off five minutes before the break made them strong favourites.

That was not to be, however, and former Inverness star Barry Wilson's penalty and a Martin Bavidge goal gave Peterhead the unlikely win.

East Fife 0 Alloa Athletic 1

ALLOA won a tight encounter against East Fife, coming away from New Bayview with a 1-0 win.

Declan McAvoy got the only goal of the game ten minutes into the second half, with the result looking to have made it a two-horse race for the Second Division title.

Stirling Albion 1 Dumbarton 2

TWO goals by Dennis Wyness won Dumbarton the points from their visit to Stirling.

After a goalless first half Nathan Taggart gave the home side the lead in the 51st minute. The lead did not last, as just three minutes later Wyness got an equaliser.

With nine minutes to go Wyness got his second of the afternoon, putting a massive dent in Stirling's title challenge.

Cowdenbeath 1 Stenhousemuir 0

IN A difficult week for Cowdenbeath off the pitch, on it things went well, as they beat Stenhousemuir 1-0.

The only goal of the game came in the 71st minute, when Gareth Wardlaw rose highest to head home Jon Robertson's cross from the right.

ARBROATH closed the gap to Stenhousemuir in the battle to avoid the relegation play-off spot, after winning 2-0 at Clyde.

Bryan Scott's deflected strike gave the visitors a 9th minute lead, and Mitch Megginson completed the scoring after 32 minutes.
