Tait takes Towson to Newcastle Falcons

NEWCASTLE have continued their recruitment drive ahead of next season's Guinness Premiership by signing Doncaster lock Glen Townson.

The 23-year-old, a former England Under-18s captain, joins on a two-year deal and will provide competition for fellow locks James Hudson, Filipo Levi and Tim Swinson.

Standing at 6ft 6in and weighing in at 18 stone, Townson joins the likes of Coventry prop James Hall and former Edinburgh No.8 Ally Hogg in joining the Falcons, who are rebuilding under new head coach Alan Tait.
