Swimming: Kieran Jardine and Reagan Doig excel in Glasgow

Dumfries Academy pupil Kieran Jardine and Reagan Doig from Perth Academy were the top performers at the Scottish Junior Championships for swimmers with a learning disability, held at Tollcross Leisure Centre in Glasgow.

After an absence of a year the championships returned to their traditional home and it was a superb meet with seven records being broken.

Jardine set three new championships records in the boys 100m freestyle (1:03.24), 50m backstroke (33.59) and 100m IM (1:11.71). Doig similarly set three new records for girls in the 100m freestyle (1:12.38), 50m butterfly (37.20) and 100m IM (1:24.26). The seventh record was set by Adam Melville from Glencryan School in the boys 50m breaststroke.
