Students set for showdown

Heriot-Watt UNIVERSITY and Edinburgh University go head to head tomorrow at Riccarton Campus (kick-off 2.00pm), with the destination of the inter-Scottish Universities Queen's Park Shield up for grabs.

Heriot-Watt currently lead the five-team league by a single point from Edinburgh University and a win for Heriot-Watt would see them pick up the trophy for the first time in three seasons. However, a victory for Edinburgh would give them their first taste of success in this competition since season 1999-2000. A draw would mean that Edinburgh could still be triumphant if they were to win their remaining outstanding game against Glasgow University.

Michael Renwick, the Heriot-Watt head coach, said: "It is basically winner takes all and we are going into the game with confidence."

Edinburgh University head coach Douglas Samuel said: "I would like my players, some of whom graduate this summer, to finish the season with fond memories of being in an Edinburgh University team that won the Queen's Park Shield."

Edinburgh have availability doubts surrounding Struan Scott-Woodhouse, Alasdair MacKinnon and Danny Main.
