Students all set for Jam Tarts test

Edinburgh University, who finished in mid-table in the Central Taxis Premier Division last season, continue with their build-up to the new campaign with a challenge match against Hearts Under-19s at Peffermill tomorrow (kick-off 2pm).

The University head coach, Douglas Samuel said: "We have quite a few missing and the remaining players are all at a different stage with regards to their fitness. Playing against a fit and well organised Hearts team will be a hard test for my players and I expect our sternest pre-season fixture so far."

Samuel is likely to give starting places to three of his new signings, Mark Cathcart from Preston Athletic, Mike Gray (Tayport Juniors) and Graham Hunter (Glasgow University).
