Stirling County 31 - 22 Boroughmuir: Stirling progress hailed

Stirling coach Graham Young was justifiably satisfied after his side secured their mid-table league position and confirmed the progress made this year.

“I’m pleased overall,” the Kiwi said. “The season’s winding down but we’re still in with a shot of making the top four.”

His side were deserved winners from an entertaining contest, albeit one littered with infringements.

Indeed, the visitors’ had gifted Brian Archibald three early penalties that he nudged over before bouncing back with a Warnock kick, penalty try and conversion. A further kick from Archibald restored County’s lead before touchdowns by Clarke, Gilmour and Doneghan, two converted, sealed victory.

Boroughmuir coach Fergus Pringle was sanguine at the close. “Fair play to Stirling, they’ve come on well this year.”
