Steve Bowditch back after depression
The 27-year-old's last full season on the circuit saw him disqualified four times, quit on three other occasions and make the cut only twice in 22 starts.
But very few people knew what was going on behind the scenes as he battled with an illness that so nearly ended his life, trying to drown himself in the pool at his Dallas base after drinking a bottle of whisky.

Hide Ad"As a man it is not considered 'tough' to admit you have a mental problem. But, as soon as you sit down and talk about it with someone, it is a great weight off your shoulders," he said.
"I want people to know that depression is common and the sooner you get the right treatment the sooner you're on the road to recovery. You shouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed to ask for help. It can happen to anyone. If you think you may be depressed, even if you're not sure, talk to a doctor."
In Honolulu, Bowditch, back on the PGA Tour after graduating from the Nationwide circuit, lines up against a field that includes Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Steve Stricker and Justin Rose.
